FBA's next CLE lunch is on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the Sandra Day O’Connor U.S. District Courthouse. The Program is Entitled: “The Looming Student Loan Crisis—Can Bankruptcy Provide Relief to Troubled Borrowers.” Student loan has historically been very difficult to discharge in bankruptcy. However, there is a new push by courts, commentators and attorneys to revisit the rigid test of undue hardship set forth in In re Brunner. An esteemed panel will discuss the Brunner test, how it is being applied by the courts, and what changes might be necessary to ensure that student loan debt does not become a permanent drag on the economy and the lives of student loan borrowers. We hope you join us for what promises to be an interesting discussion on a very relevant topic. Please see attached flyer for more information.
